As a member of the Tamilnadu Planning Commission’s Working
Group on Art, assisted the Govt. of Tamilnadu in drawing up
a comprehensive programme on Art and Youth Development
(1985-1987).
During the transition of the Gandhigram Rural Institute into
a Deemed to be University the first Vice-Chancellor made Dr.
Radhakrishnan the Convenor of the special task force to work
out the modalities.
Has long years of administrative experience as a member of
the Syndicate, Finance Committee, Senate, Academic Council,
Head of the Faculty of English and Foreign Languages,
Controller of Examinations, Coordinator of PG Programmes in
English, Director of Dept. of Shanti Sena, Director of
Public Relations, Director of Employment Exchange.
During the visit of two UGC Standing Committees to
Gandhigram Rural Institute, he was the coordinator of the
local teams to facilitate academic recognition to the new
University.
During the visit of the Prime Minister of India, Sri. Rajiv
Gandhi, to GRI, he was the Chief Liaison Officer between the
various agencies.
As the Director of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti which
has two campuses in Delhi and a regular staff of 164 members
and an annual budgetary allocation of over two crores of
rupees and which has programmes through over twenty
universities all over India and several tie up programmes
through Gandhian organizations both in India and abroad, he
has acquired experience in working with various Ministries,
departments, agencies, universities, foreign missions and
governments.
He gained valuable experience as the Director of the nodal
agency of the National committee to organize national and
international programmes to commemorate the 125th
birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 1994-95.
Designed, planned and implemented the decision of the
Government of India to develop an International Institute of
Gandhian Studies and Research at Rajghat at Gandhi Darshan
which will gradually emerge as the focal point where
everything about Gandhi would be made available to scholars,
researches, students, activists and others from any part of
the world. The International Institute came into existence
on 30 Janauary 1996 at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, New Delhi
and he was appointed CEO of the Centre
